The study of our brain has revealed that happiness is synthesized by our brain. In a way it is like cognitive dissonance – the feeling of uncomfortable tension which comes from holding two conflicting thoughts in the mind at the same time (Move back and get your ass f*cked or move front and get oral f*cked). Our mind has an immune system that perceives the world in a way that makes us happy. Watch this interesting and entertaining talk by a brilliant professor of psychology at Havard:

My afterthoughts? I guess it can summarized by this quote from Helen Keller:

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we took so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened up for us.

One of the main features and probably the best feature of a laptop is that it is portable, allowing you to carry and use it anywhere. As a result, many people now have the tendancy to not use the laptops on the standardized desk and chair. The illustration below, taken from weblog Core77’s netbook case study, highlights ten common usage positions and the pain points, signified with the red glowing dots, you’re asking for down the road with each.

Top ten common laptop positions

Personally, my favorite position is notably the one with the Male sign and indeed, I felt discomfort in areas near my elbows and upper back after lying in that position for some time. Ouch! Looks like it’s time to change.

Anyway interestingly, the most comfortable and the safest position, according to the study, is position #2 above: lying down with the device slightly elevated on the user’s thigh with bent knees. Does anyone of you happen to use that position?

Of all the 3 phones, Nokia 3310, Nokia N-Gage, iPhone, that I have carried along with in my pocket, they have all been featured in this video. What about you? Did you happen to own any of the phones that made an appearance in the video too?
